To Be Simply Well

Throughout my academic career, I was repeatedly told that “ if you can not explain it to a child, then you do not know it well enough”. Talk about a reality check! How do you explain some of the most subjective, complicated, and detailed concepts to a child? Well, the answer- you simplify it to the most important and basic principles.  

The same rules apply when it comes to your health and well being. If it is so complicated that you can’t explain it to a child, then its probably not going to serve you. Think about all those fad diets, workouts, fasting, and supplements out there that are ultimately not sustainable long term. Why?  Frankly, It’s confusing! Instead of listening to your own body’s needs we are told to fit into someone’s mold.  Despite all the outside noise, your health doesn’t have to be so complicated. In fact, it can be pretty simple when you begin with honoring yourself and where you are at. 

The name “Simply Well” encompasses so much more than just a concept. The dictionary states that “Well” means to be “in good health; free or recovered from illness”. Simply indicates that the journey to health and wellness doesn’t have to be complicated and confusing. Start with the basic principles and add from there to be “Simply Well”.
